In the beginning, when we decided that complete self-sufficiency (or as close to as we can get) was what we wanted i was a house wife and mother of two. My husband worked 14 hour days for two weeks straight and then got 4 days off, two of which were required to be spent in the shop (so really only two days off every two weeks). He also spent alot of time out of town where he wouldn't get to come home for weeks at a time. The money was great but the life was NOT!! My husband dreaded every day that he had to get up and leave to go to work and i hated not having him around. So we decided to find a way out!!! My husband and I are both country people at heart, I love animals and always thought how wonderful it would be to live on a farm, and my husband loves to hunt and fish, and both of us love to grow things and always wanted a huge garden, so finally one day we decided "why not, lets do it!" and so we begin. This is our story of our journey to becoming completely self reliant.
